Shane was overjoyed. Just a few weeks ago Nintendo announced that his favorite generation of Pokemon games - Diamond and Peal - were officially getting their long-awaited remakes. Sure, there were complaints to be made, but those paled in comparison to the excitement Shane felt upon reminiscing about revisiting his favorite region. Still, all that being said, the games wouldn’t release until the fall. Shane soon found that it was impossibly difficult to contain his anticipation, and for one primary reason: Shane loved the gym leader Gardenia. She was, by and large, his favorite Pokemon character. He loved her attitude in the anime, her rugged style, and was even a particular fan of the grass type in particular. The fanboy couldn’t wait to see what her remake sprite looked like - so much so that he began to surf the web for hacked roms of Diamond or Pearl that provided updated art and character models.
